Overview

BSR-funded research shows that rheumatology patients want clinic letters written directly to them. Developed with over 700 patients and 300 HCPs across the UK, these practical resources support healthcare professionals to make that change with confidence.

These resources have been created to support all rheumatology health care professionals (HCPs) to write clinic letters directly to patients, clearly summarising what happened and was agreed during outpatient consultations. Patients want outpatient clinic letters to be written to them with medical terminology explained so everyone is clear about their health.

We know that changing your practice may feel daunting, and so these resources provide practical tips to support you to get started from a glossary of terms to patient leaflets.

These resources are evidenced-based and co-developed with patients and health care professionals.
